Volans drives market-based solutions to the future's greatest challenges.
November 7th 2013
Hosted at MaRS, this anchor event in the Breakthrough Capitalism Canada program begins with an overview of the importance of system-level change, followed by three work streams:
The session includes an exploration of financial measurements that underline decision-making frameworks – and how they can be improved to account for other forms of capital. Participants include big accountancy businesses, their clients, the industry standards board policy makers, and NGOs that are addressing the valuation of natural capital.
With a focus on activating consumer behavior change, the discussion looks at how to better engage the public to change behaviors by customizing messages to the individual. Participants include Canadian retailers, advertising agencies, consumer goods companies, NGOs and entrepreneurs that are developing products and services that focus on consumer behavior change.
The session looks at how food systems in Canada are being developed and managed to ensure the health of current and future generations. Participants include representatives from the farmer community, food centric NGOs, entrepreneurs operating in the food sector, agriculture policy makers and investors.
Participants commit to engaging in short ‘pre-reads’, and specific follow-up after the work sessions to ensure that the discussions are action-oriented.
